What do we do?

We Train Dogs.

What do we train?

  • Obedience

Obedience is the foundation of training for your dog. Ballistics training recommends completing a few sessions of basic obedience with us first if you haven’t done any training with your dog or puppy before. Basic obedience includes sit, down, stay, recall etc.

We will discuss the complexity of obedience needed for you and your dog during the first assessment. Throughout, we can create various goals on our training journey.

  • Anxiety

Anxiety triggers can be anything from separation, a scent, noise, another dog, a visitor at your house or car rides etc.

These things can be scary for dogs and if you notice your dog gets anxious around something similar, we can help them feel comfortable with these triggers in a few sessions.

  • Puppy Training

Puppy training is all about exposure to new, exciting, sometimes nerve wracking things. We do this slowly at the puppies pace in order to keep them in their comfort zone. As this training can include being in public spaces or interaction with other dogs, this means your puppy will need all of its vaccines before we can start training.

  • Socialisation

If your puppy or dog has had limited contact with other canines we can help them learn the correct way to communicate and play in a safe and exciting environment.

We highly recommend doing this before 12 weeks of age although we can help any dog of any age learn to socialise - this just may take a few more sessions to ensure your dog does not get overwhelmed in the process.

  • Reactivity

If your puppy/dog is showing signs of aggression or reactivity, we can try to help them adjust their perspective. We do this through enrichment and positive reinforcement.

During our first assessment we can decide if muzzle training is a requirement before continuing. We can also help with making the muzzle a positive experience too.

  • Referral

On occasion we may notice or observe something to do with your dog that needs an external provider, we will therefore refer or entrust you onto another service. It could be a change in behaviour or gait that leads us to think a further investigation is recommended. This can be during the initial assessment or further down the line of training.

An example of this could include a veterinary appointment.
